Perennial Hotel
Perennial Hotel is a concept brand for a boutique hotel that I've created from the ground up using my own photography combined with AI-generated imagery to document my work. The deliverables for the project consisted of custom logo lockups, a full menu, hotel key cards and keychains, business cards and social media posts to establish a sense of reality and believability for the hotel. The inspiration behind the name "Perennial" comes from the hope that guests and families establish a tradition in staying at Perennial, referencing the cycling bloom and long-lasting nature of perennial plants.​​​​​​​

Perennial Hotel's visual identity captures the essence of Santa Cruz, blending vibrant colors and natural elements to create a welcoming and timeless aesthetic. The custom logo lockups and vintage-inspired typography strike a balance between classic elegance and contemporary flair, symbolizing the hotel's commitment to personalized hospitality. Through thoughtful design elements and cohesive branding across all touchpoints, Perennial Hotel establishes a memorable and immersive experience for guests.
The Brand
Perennial Hotel's brand story is rooted in the rich tapestry of Santa Cruz's culture and its natural beauty. The name "Perennial" embodies the hope that guests will create lasting memories and return year after year, fostering a sense of connection and continuity. From its inception, Perennial Hotel has been more than just a place to stay; it's a sanctuary where every detail is curated to provide an unparalleled guest experience.
From hand-stamped room cards to seasonal cafe menus, every aspect of the experience is thought through and put into action to make the guest feel seen and cared for through every aspect of their stay. The intentionality and attention to detail is really what sets Perennial apart from its competitors.

Perennial's social media presence serves as a digital extension of its enchanting physical space, offering guests a glimpse into the captivating world of curated eccentricities and impeccable hospitality. Through carefully crafted posts and captivating imagery, Perennial's online presence is as thoughtful as the stay that guests will experience. By showcasing the unique personality of the hotel, the social media presence strengthens the bond between the brand and its patrons, while garnering new business.

Developing Perennial's brand, visuals, and photography took a lot of attention to detail, and underscored the importance of strategic design decisions in shaping perception and creating meaningful connections with the audience. Creating this challenge for myself gave me to opportunity to practice conveying specific emotions and fostering brand loyalty through those design choices.​​​​​​​
